    5.56 AR or maybe an AK. I if its too far away for them to be effective I am going to avoid a confrontation if at all possible. I would rather have larger mags and lighter weight ammo.

    I learned the hard way about not using a holster with retention hunting. Couple years ago I was climbing into my stand and my 1911 fell out of the holster and spooked a deer I hadn't seen.

    So Dougie's thread on suicide holsters got me thinking. What type of retention do you prefer? For the purpose of this poll lets say for a hunting, hiking, training, etc...... Holster, not something for CC. Personally I love the safriland ALS system
