    Fireclean, aka Crisco?

Agreed. I'm not seeing any specificity regarding the actual combination of oils used. They used a vegetable oil with a high smoke point, which we already knew. Well, at least some people knew.

    Fireclean, aka Crisco?

From the test results, canola appears close to the same thing. I think the trick is figuring out which vegetable based oil won't gum up badly and won't smell like crap when it gets hot. There was some discussion specifically about not using soybean derivatives. I'd have to assume that's because...

    Fireclean, aka Crisco?

It's no surprise really. There are several gun oils on the market that are made from food based oils. Froglube, Fireclean, fp-10 and Seal-1 are all food based. That's why the Froglube proponents used to tout that you could eat it and it wouldn't hurt you. Whatever Froglube is made from spoils...

Milcomm tw25b is an excellent light gun grease. It almost turns into a heavy liquid under pressure. Stays where you apply it & doesn't gum up.

I'm thinking either white lithium grease or tw25-b. I really like tw25-b on pistol slide rails.

Frog lube completely crapped the bed on three different AR's and a couple of pistols of mine. Turned into a sticky, half-glue. And I followed their directions very carefully. Total junk. FC has never gummed up on me. That's not Fireclean. Sounds more like grease. FC is a clear liquid and does...

    Fireclean, aka Crisco?

Frog lube is also a vegetable oil base. But whatever it's made from can spoil. I've long suspected that FC was also a vegetable oil of some sort. There is only one way for these products to be non-toxic and that is for them to be a non-petroleum based oil. That pretty much only leaves...

KKM makes some really nice barrels. But if they are cut to the standard dimensions, they aren't match barrels. The only way to squeeze match accuracy out of a pistol barrel is to fit it to the slide. Basically, it's a stainless replacement for your stock barrel.

Well, that explains the new marketing. Seems like a losing proposition for SCo.

Sorry man, I don't know all of the history or personalities involved. Can you expand on that?

    I Shouldn't, but sometimes I can't help myself. It's early, and I haven't had my coffee.

Good analogy. But I still think he's a raging douchebag. There are plenty of other excellent gear companies out there to choose from. I can think of at least 7 or 8 right now that make high end gear to suit almost any need and somehow they manage to not act like they do. Any company that says...

They appear to make some nice gear, but I can't support egotistical cock suckers.
