The 30 ARX, the better 30 cal AR-15 option

I'm going to find some .30-o5AP rounds and pull the bullets and load them for .300. Genius.

    Eh...maybe, maybe not.

The 30 ARX, the better 30 cal AR-15 option

....but I would be willing to bet that 300BLK supers are defeating barriers that 5.56 isn't.

The 30 ARX, the better 30 cal AR-15 option

So it's just a new follower, not a whole new mag? And then would it only be a USGI mag follower? Or do they work across the board with PMAG's, Lancer's, etc.?

The 30 ARX, the better 30 cal AR-15 option

    It's a weight thing....that and parts compatibility.

The 30 ARX, the better 30 cal AR-15 option

I don't know about the mags, but yes to the barrel and bolt. NWS says you need different mags but I admit to being somewhat ignorant of the 6.5 AR platform. The benefit of the round is that you get a more powerful .30 caliber round in an AR15 platform. Once you step it up to AR10, everything is...

The 30 ARX, the better 30 cal AR-15 option

6.5 uses different mags? I didn't know that....if that's true, it's another real con for non 6.5 owners already. One of the beautiful things about 300BLK is the bolt/mag compatibility. I think that's maybe a little unfair given the case dimensions but your point is vaild. It's not a super...

    Again, though, a compromise.

    Essential Knots

I suppose it potaytoe, potahtoe. I use the larks head when I'm in need of two shots of rope off of a central anchor point, dual rappel, tie-downs, or what have you. You're using the term "joining" to mean two ends of two ropes whereas I just mean bringing them together.

The 30 ARX, the better 30 cal AR-15 option

This....so it is rounds limited over the 300BLK, but as with everything, it's a compromise.

    Essential Knots

Like another rope? To which it is....I don't know? Joined? :boink:
  18. rOmiLaYu

    Essential Knots

I think that there are other, better knots for joining to pieces of rope than the sheet bend....lark's head for one....but more than that, the square knot can be used to join and it is already on the list. None of the original five that you listed afforded you the ability to shrink the...

    Essential Knots

I would replace sheet bend with sheep shank. Other than that, agreed.
