Yeah, but even still... that's $518 before shipping and before another $100+ to chop and rethread the barrel. No way anyone is building a 7" AR9 pistol for $450. No way.

Even still, though....a bolt, a mag block, and a barrel for under $200? No way...unless he has an angle or a steep discount.

I went for months back and forth from PSA, to JoeBob, to JSE, to you name it. I still feel like I overpaid.....I'll be darned if this guy can build one for 1/2 of what it cost me....but then again, it's probably just his way of saying that his stuff is better than my stuff.

Their pistol build kit is $550 and you'd still need a lower. So even in the best case scenario, you'd be in @ $600 plus shipping.

That was my thought as well. I waited and waited on mine....finding all the deals I could...and even then, I'm still in it right around 700 to 800.

I'm trying...well was trying... To work a trade and I offered my AR9 build for $800 to start and the guy comes back with "I can build one for $450" Is it even possible to build an AR9 upper alone for $450? Much less the full pistol?

This would be my guess. Something about the follower and the bolt riding it and slowing down. Are there any abnormal wear marks on the follower?

A couple of things: 1) It's not your fault; it's an industry standard thing...but the term "quick detach" bugs the crap out of me. "Quick attach?" Fine. But once that thing heats up, there's nothing quick about detaching it. 2) If you're talking about a dedicated 5.56/.223 can, there's no need...
