Cartridge spotlight: handloading and shooting the 30-06 Springfield

I had one years ago, I just wanted a flatter trajectory. Now that I have suppressors I see it as a great way to mimic say 9x39

Cartridge spotlight: handloading and shooting the 30-06 Springfield

I've always heard 30-06 takes on a whole new life when hand loaded. I don't plan on buying one soon, simply because I don't get out to the longer ranges enough. Under 300 yards is just boring with full on rifle calibers.

If you hunt out of season

We saved it once and it stays around and its kids. It plays with our dogs and comes up to us when we're in the fields. We put a collar on it years ago to dissuade hunters. We have 200+ acres and our adjacent neighbors all love the deer and won't allow hunters, it was a poacher trespassing for sure.

If you hunt out of season

Then fuck you. And fuck whoever would shoot a deer with a collar on in the head. Couldn't even kill the damn deer, just took its ear off. And in all likelihood the hunter was trespassing. We sanitized it, but we don't think she'll survive with that can't kind of wound. So fuck you.

Can't decide if I should keep my 357/38 lever gun

It's super annoying to meter a gun that takes to much time between shots

Can't decide if I should keep my 357/38 lever gun

I just wish there was a 45-70 that was easy to thread and fast enough twist. I wonder if a Marlin 45-70 would be easy enough to thread since the mag tube is not as long as the barrel.
