    Powder question

I just re-read the thread and had an additional thought re the OP's issues regarding the powder weight thrown vs what the charts say should be thrown by a particular disk. It is possible that the powder scale being used may be out of tolerance. I always test of my scales (particularly my...

Tumblers - What is the advantage?

The action of a tumbler (either one that spins or a vibratory tumbler) actually smooths the exterior surfaces of the cartridge cases so that they will feed better. In other words, tumbling makes the exterior finish become as good as or even better than new brass. Make darned sure that you...

Gonna shoot 100 rds this weekend. What SD drills should I practice?

For one thing, you should NEVER re-holster the weapon into a pocket holster without first removing the holster from the pocket. There's way too much risk of an accidental discharge when jamming a pistol into a pocketed holster.

    FrogLube?

I have absolutely no idea as I have never used FrogLube. I don't normally use CLP either though I've been playing with a can of it. Unfortunately, the spray can does not deliver just a little where I want it and I've not found it in liquid form around here.

    FrogLube?

CLP is the abbreviation for Clean, Lubricate, and Protect. Break-Free's CLP was developed to meet a military request for a non-existing product. You can read a lot more at this Break-Free web site. Click on any one of the CLP headings in the listings.

    Reloading and the very beginner

Dave - in order to start out with the lowest practical budget and still be able to produce quality ammunition, I would suggest the following for a minimum starter kit: A standard single station press such as the RCBS Partner Single Stage Press. I chose this one to recommend over the Lee unit...

    Reloading and the very beginner

It's a fact that Starline brass is just about the best there is. In addition, the price is quite reasonable even when compared to inferior new brass from other sources.

Graf's looks like another good place for me to bookmark. Thanks for that one, guys.

    Reloading and the very beginner

I have found that Cabela's is a bit overpriced for reloading equipment. In addition, they don't seem to have enough variety in their choices (mostly in equipment but also in bulk-packed bullets) to satisfy me. You can certainly get a good idea what you might want to spend, but I strongly...

    Reloading and the very beginner

I'll be quite honest. I don't know. I haven't priced out all the needed equipment in quite a few years. I've purchased a set of dies here and there, a little powder and a few bullets here and there, but most of my stuff is 20 to 30 years old.

    Powder question

This safety check is precisely why I always put powder into a tray full of cartridges and very carefully observe the levels in all the cartridges, looking for under-charged or over-charged cartridge cases prior to inserting bullets. Another thing that I do along this line is to make sure that...

    Reloading and the very beginner

Dave - in addition to a press and, of course, a set of dies, you'll definitely want a powder scale. You might want to use the cheapest powder measure available - a set of Lee dippers - but you'll still want to be able to measure the weight of a particular powder thrown by the chosen dipper...

What are you planning on acquiring in the next 12 months?

For me, it's more ammo (or, more likely, bulk components).

    Reloading and the very beginner

Dave, I do not recommend the hand-held tools instead of a press. You could do very well, though, with a single-station press. Rather than completing a single round at a time (start to finish), it would make much more sense to do the same process step on your collection of empty cases and then...

    Baby Glocks

My G26 is a great piece. I just wish it were a lot thinner but of course that can't happen with a double-stack magazine.

Lets see some Pics of your reloading equipment

I'll get to photographing my reloading area once I can clean it and the surrounding shop area up. My problem is I usually have two or three concurrent projects running. For example, I'm presently re-working several radios for Emergency Management on my "woodworking" bench. Like many folks...

    Posting images in the Forums

Folks, in the interest of conserving bandwidth, let's be a little judicious (and conservative) about the number of embedded photos and links to photos that we upload into a single topic/thread. If it takes more than one photo to tell a story, that is fine. However, multiple photos showing...
