So I've gone from a Beretta 92FS as my very first EDC in an Uncle Mike's soft holster (by the way, not a good idea), to a Glock 30SF in a CompTac MTAC Minotaur (great gun and an exceptional holster) to now what I believe will be my EDC for the rest of my days, a Glock 19 with a CompTac MTAC Minotaur holster.

The Beretta 92FS was a very uneducated choice as I was young, dumb, and ignorant back in the 90's as what I should be looking for in a carry piece and holster. Of course, in my defense, back in 1994 there wasn't a lot of selection when it came to holsters and concealed carry rigs. However it was the gun Mel Gibson carried in Lethal Weapon, so it couldn't be so bad right? Actually it was a great gun that shot very well. Just a little big and heavy for an EDC.

The Glock 30SF was a great gun that felt great in the hand, gave me a sense of power (it's a small cannon on your side) and was in a relatively compact size. What it made up in length, it lacked in girth (meaning it was a pretty wide gun) and relatively heavy...especially with 10+1 rounds of 230 grain ammo.

The Glock 19 was a gun I had but didn't carry until recently when I took a Fighting Pistol course. The 9mm was much cheaper to train with, although you should train with what you carry. What I realized quickly was the Glock 19 was a little bit longer of a gun, but it was thiner, lighter and felt amazingly good in my hands. I was amble to maintain a better, firmer grip on the gun and I had 50% more ammo in every mag. Ballistically when comparing 9mm self defense ammo to 45acp self defense ammo, there's not a huge disparity between the two. So it just made more sense to switch from the Glock 30SF to the Glock 19.

So that's my EDC rig. A Glock 19 gen 4, with a CompTac MTAC Minotaur holster. I have other items in my EDC, but that's the beef between the buns.

What is your Carry/home defense ammo?

Yes and no, sorry, I'll explain... EDC meaning your "Every Day Carry". So what is it that you carry on your persons (hopefully everyday) . It can consist of a specific gun(s), mags, holster, ammo, flashlight(s), pepper spray, knife or knives, etc.

Holy Dirty Harry! You carry a DE44mag? JeezLouise! I thought Ive carried big guns: Baretta92FS (heavy), Glock 30SF, Glock19, etc. but nothing like that hand cannon you carry! Wow! Post a pic when you can.

And a Glock34 is your secondary? The extended slide full size 9mm? Man! I'd love to see how you carry these beasts.

IMG-20140208-00422.jpg yeah, everbody says its too big, but i like it. im accurate with it, and at first it is a little heavy, but ive got use to it. i carry my glock 34 in a DeSantis Leather Holster, and my DE is carried in a custom leather shoulder rig my friends grandpa made for me. I put new millett sights on my DE as well, the stock sights arent very good. i had my little sister hold the DE in one of the pics. Damn bro... you carry some heavy hardware! Nice setup! And the Charlies' Angels pic is awesome! I love when our significant others cozy up to our passion for guns / 2A.

A FDE Glock 19 gen 4 in a CompTac MTAC Minotaur holster. I love this set up and the only thing I may end up changing it for would be HK VP9.

Mainly carry a S&W Shield in a DeSantis Cozy Partner IWB EVERYWHERE. That's at a minimum. Sometimes a Glock 23 Sometimes a Glock 29

Glock 27 (haters welcomed), in a cheap IWB holster (will go better when I can afford it), goes with me everywhere I go. Also have an AR with 10 loaded mags at work at all times, just in case (my boss is VERY gun friendly, so that's a plus).
