The side rail on an AK pattern is a return to zero mount. Remove optic, remove top cover reinstall both when done good to go

Think mine comes off without removing though due to PK-A height but I take it off to fold my triangle stock. Can’t rock optic and left side folder. if I’m correct @Jeddak russian manual of arms is to carry optic and weapon folded during transport then deploy stock and add optic for mission

Slide the side mount off, remove dust cover. Repeat in reverse. It keeps zero.

I just sent a 100% receiver, barrel, and kit to my builder of choice and a rifle magically showed up 90 days later. Guess you can get the tools to do it all at home, but eh....

My Galil kit is supposed to show up at InRange tomorrow.
Closer and quicker than TRA, at least for this one I think. TRA has done 5 RPKs for me over the years. All of them are smooth as butter.
