Can they retitle this "how to turn an accurate rifle into a slug gun"?

Good grief why would someone set that off right in front of their face. One of the biggest problems I see that he didn't mention is the projectile engagement into the lands and grooves. You can significantly over pressure reloaded ammo by leaving the bullet out too far- when you camber the round, the projectile is jammed into the rifling.

I was wondering about thet jump to the rifling, and the erosion you would get from the gasses trying to push past the bullet.

Seems nuts

Just because it can be done, doesn't mean it should.

Loading high power rifle bullets backwards seems to be the rough equivalent to trying to stuff a turd back in one's ass. Technically feasible, but why would you wan to?

Stupid! A rifle round by itself is more than effective. If more power is needed buy a bigger caliber rifle. Plus this will probably have the accuracy of a 1770 musket pistol. Stupid!!

Nothing new. Somebody does this with some cartridge about every 15-20 yrs. Magazines had had articles, I remember from when I was a kid, (early '70s). Again in late 80s early 90s.

One tried a pistol to create a .45 ACP WC. Another loaded .38 HBWC backwards to make a HP.

Again, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

I have a buddy that is deep into reloading and one helluva shooter. He loads some sub loads with the bullet backwards (Berger, don't recall the grain weights) to keep the round stabilized. There were some more physics and reasons involved, but I can't recall all of them since I was spending my time making fun of him. The loads shot lights out.
