Unfortunately I don't think this Redfield is good enough for you and neither is me behind a Swiss K31.

But it sure is fun!

The high and the low shots were from getting the range. I never got the scope dialed in but was using the stadia lines for hold-over after a zero at 100 yards. This was towards the end of the day and had a social engagement later.

The black circle is 36" across if memory serves me right.

Anyway, for an old guy with no formal long distance training and a rifle built in 1933 shooting surplus ammo, I don't think I could ask much more from a clamp on mount and a $120 scope.

Did I mention how much fun it is? I giggled like a school girl the first time I hit the target! Second time, too, truth be told.

Good luck in your search for the scope! Lots of sage advice on here.

Just wanted to add my $0.02 to those who don't think their kit will reach out to 600 yards.

I really like the Nightforce Unimount.

I've seen issues with the AmDef mounts when used on a .308 AR-type platform. Not always, but enough to concern me to the point that I don't recommend them for that application anymore. On a 5.56, however, they're good to go.
