Back when Tommy Theis was first getting into the holster game I contacted him about making me a custom hybrid holster. I carried in a Crossbreed supertuck but wanted to carry with a light. Crossbreed wouldn't make me one so when Tommy hit the market with his new holsters I asked him if he could. He told me they were very time consuming but he would do it. I paid the man and a few weeks later I had my custom Tommy Theis that enabled me to carry my Glock IWB with my TLR-1 attached.

The holster was nice and stood up to daily carry for probably around 5 years. A couple things that bugged me though were the fact that I couldn't use the holster if my TLR wasn't attached, and the clips were sharp as hell and tore up my clothing. I replaced the clips with crossbreed clips and just continued to use my crossbreed when I wanted to carry without a light.

Here is that holster.

as I said, it lasted for about 5 years or so but the other day I noticed a crack in the Kydex. I contacted Tommy and asked him if his lifetime warranty extended to his custom holsters and he told me it did and to send my holster back. He also told me he is now using a thicker Kydex to prevent that from happening and his clips are now improved as well.

I shipped the holster off right around Christmas, maybe even a day or two after. Today, January 3rd my new holster showed up and all I can say is WOW!

The Kydex is indeed thicker, and the molding is amazing. He even made it where it covers my threaded barrel which I didn't ask him to do, but it certainly is a nice touch. The clips are nice as well and best of all I can use the holster without my light attached.

Way to to Tommy!

And of course the new holster.

Nice looking holster, and great warranty. Honestly, I'm just as impressed the TLR-1 held up for five years of carrying.

Theis holster was the first holster I ever bought. It is great quality and carries great. I also had a custom one made to accommodate the :laser: on my edc. I sent him the laser and a week or so later everything was returned. I have yet to have the slightest issue with it. If you are looking for a good quality leather backed holster I would highly recommend theis holsters.

I wish I could use this style holster. But due to having no ass my pants don't stay up even with a good belt.

Tommy is the man. He's made me several awesome holsters/mag pouches over the years and a few of them he custom made for me to fit my needs/wants. He has awesome customer service and super fast lead times.

Very nice.

There is not much better than excellent customer service. That is a big reason why I am a Glock and Surefire fanboy.

Yep. I like my Streamlight, but I would never buy another one due to piss poor customer service.

I'm going to order one tonight I think. You sold me @NWS

It is definitely worth it, especially with a 1911. It helps disperse the weight evenly and it is super comfortable.

Hopefully he will be joining up here. I just sent him an email letting him know about the site so we will see. He posts on a bunch of forums so hopefully he will join up here.

Tommy's belts are also first class. I've owned one for 4 and 1/2 years now wearing it every day. It looks just as good as the day I got it.

That will be the next purchase I make from him, along with a hybrid IWB holster for my LCR. I'm kinda bummed to see that he doesn't offer horsehide as an option anymore though.

I could definitely use a belt. Ive been on the hunt for one that is leather, extra sturdy for edc obviously, and a reasonable looking inconspicuous buckle.
