Anyone have any experience with the XC1?

I currently run a TLR but like the compactness of the XC1 but not a fan of the lumen output in comparison to the TLR.

Id like to try the XC1 but they're double the price of a TLR

I dont care for the controls (difficult to put it on constant) and I've read of several folks having problems ranging from emitter failure to mounting problems. I looked real hard at one but for the cost it didn't do what I wanted and I didn't like reading about the issues folks were having.

Also for compactness, it was released after I bought my TLR-1 (bad luck on my part) but there is a new inforce APL that fits a G19 perfectly, narrow and doesn't stick past the muzzle.

Good construction, bad controls. Played and shot with one and it performed well but the controls are sticky and not "springy" like a TRL etc

I'm pretty sure I've seen @cmshoot post a couple pics of pistols that had an XC1 on them.

I run an XC1 on my G19 and Beretta 92 Compact Railed.

I like it. I have had no problems with either one that I own. No issues with the controls, they are intuitive and easy to use. I don't mind the "constant on" as it takes a very deliberate act to engage. I prefer that over switches that are too easy to engage the constant-on. It is a feature I would use rarely and wouldn't like it to be accidentally engaged, possibly when I'm performing a reload or clearing a malfunction.

The beam is short and wide, which works just fine for a handgun.

I like the big TLR on my full-size Beretta 92G, but I'm sold on the XC1 for my compact handguns.

What's a good "cheap" version of tlr1 or similar?

Streamlight M3 (same as an Insight Technologies M3). Used them for years with no problems. Seen them used for around $60. I think I have 5-6 of them at home. I use them for loaners and such.

I use TLR1, etc. but I would like a cheap alternative, just to have in the car. Thanks for the suggestion.
