I've been looking for a while now and have it narrowed to the following:

Mossberg 930 SPX or JM Pro
Benelli M1, M2, M4 (M4 would certainly have to be used)
Beretta 1301

I don't plan to hang a bunch of crap off it (which I hear some Benellis don't take well to), nor do I plan to enter any competitions; essentially multi-purpose, but mostly HD

I'm fine with 7+1 capacity of the SPX, don't really need the 10-shot of a JM pro; I don't really want to spend 1K plus for a Benelli, but they do pop up used from time-to-time

I'm not really in a rush, I can wait for a good used one of the above to pop up on the web, but, I also hate wasting my time with ads from folks that don't list the exact model and specs, end up doing a bunch of PMs back and forth only to find out that they are trying to sell a WalMart 930 breacher that they swapped the barrel or stocks on, etc

Buds & Slick guns have numerous options, I could always just buy online & pay the FFL fee

Thoughts, opinions?

If HD is your goal the SPX is the way to go.

the JM is nice if you ever plan on doing some clay shooting and don't like reloads, but most commercial sporting clay/trap/skeet locations only allow 2 shots in the mag at a time.

This was the best 930spx price I could find $621.89

You sure you want ghost rings? I'm not a fan of them for shotguns

Thanks!

I guess I should have also mentioned that I'm not opposed to CZ or FN, I just don't know much about them compared to what I continuously see about the 930's & Benellis

ETA: But getting into FN SLP territory is similar to Benelli, only problem is that they don't come used nearly as often

I plan on going with a 930 SPX after almost no research...just seems like it does everything right.

I've been kinda leaning that way too, since I have shot one (a Black Water version) but still deciding which version I want. The pistol grip isn't a big deal for me, but the SPXs do come with a myriad of sight options, so I'm still on the fence

I personally dislike pistol grips on shotguns...just feels unnatural on most. I do like the ghost ring sight version quite a bit...

I could honestly go either way on the grip, have used both and neither really makes too much of a noticeable difference to me (but I'm no competition shooter or anything).

Ghost rings are nice, and the SPX comes with multiple front sights; I do kinda lean toward the Fiber Optic front sight (doubt I'll ever put a red-dot or anything on it), but an AR front post would be fine as well - Afterall, it's a shotgun & if used for HD, I doubt I'll even line up the sights. If I'm trying to do precision work, it wont be with a 12ga ;)

I know I'm all over the place here, but I just can't decide

I think I'm close to making my mind up: This one is $699 + $19.99 shipping (Ghost ring rear with fiber optic front sight)

I pulled the trigger on the tan one - I wasted money just for the different color, but I kinda like it.
