I have an US. I dip chainsaw parts mostly.
Be careful with simple green, it’ll etch aluminum and oxidize it. Do not leave aluminum in mix overnight. There is a dollar store brand green cleaner that is safe for aluminum, but the name is escaping me.

I have not put any aluminum in it yet. Only things that a magnet sticks to lol.

If you find that name let me know. I have about 7 more baffles I'd love to do but they're aluminum.

After about 3 hours or more depending on how caked on the carbon is. I put a thin layer of Fire Clean on my baffles. It does make it easier to clean the next time.

I've heard this same thing about everything from dish soap, to CLP, to lube, to fire clean! I think its just keeping the innards lubed up in a sense.

One review guy said he uses it in cleaning brass. I’ll have to check this out.

You have to put Brasso or the equivalent into it or it is dusty and slow to clean. I use it in my tumbler. As much as I shoot around the homeplace, 1bag has lasted at lasted over 3 years.
