Is it just 2 people for the whole boat or is that just your party?
My buddy does charters, but not deep sea, and usually makes $100-200 in tips for a 4hr tour, but that's with 6 people.
Just a word of caution. My dad booked a half day charter when we were staying at Jeckyll island a few years back. There were 5 in our party. The boat was small, cant remember exact length but under 30ft for sure, and included captain and 1st mate. We spent the 1st hour or two with the captain trying to cast net for live bait. After that, we went out about 14 miles to fish. Dealing with 5 ft swells and 7 knot winds. He could keep the boat on any of his spots long enough to catch any fish. We tried for a couple hours and the captain finally called it and we headed back in. After cruising through the intercoastal water way for another 30mins he came out where the shrimp boats were trawling. We caught about 5 sharks and then headed back in.
All in all, it sucked. Hope yours is a better trip.

Spent the past day working with TowBoat U.S., Captain Chris Day towing a houseboat to shore then demoing it and filling two dumpster containers.
