Does anyone have any experience or first (possibly) second hand knowledge of the Regal brand, specifically the late 90’s (ie 1997-1999) or the Commodore 272 series?

I know in the past, Regal had some Hull issues. Thanks for anything you can provide .

Fiberglass: Crownline>Regal>Bayliner

What engine platform? Volvo or Mercruiser? Ifs a Merc, is it an Alpha one?

What engine?

During that time., Sea Ray was the only company that used fiberglass for their floors. If you're looking at one of those Regals I would expect the floor as it is probably marine-grade plywood..

and I'm eyeballing the Shimano Stradic 2500 CI4+
Anyone have any experience with this reel?
Or is there a better option at this price point?
Looking around $200-ish

always been told Shimano is a great brand, I've just never spent that much on a reel!
I've had pretty good experience using Shimano too, but I've never spent $200 on a reel before though either, I usually stay around the $100 mark. Took a little time off and looking to get back in the tournies.

Shimano would be my bet. They use some excellent bearings. The Stradic was a great reel 15 years ago, it has to be just about perfected now.

Last year we purchased our first boat, a 1999 Four Winns Horizon 170 runabout fish & ski boat. It was fun but far too small. It was the equivalent of buying a Mazda Miata. Fun to scoot around in, but not the most comfortable and spacious ride. At the end of the season, we sold the Four Winns and saved up and purchased a much larger 29' cabin cruiser. We really like the boat, but realized it needs a good name. I'm sure I'll get a list of goofy names from some in the peanut gallery, however I'd like to give the community the chance to name the boat. So if you have a good name to suggest, please list it below and we will consider it. Thanks!

I just purchased my son a Lew's Laser MG 120/12 - 7.1:1 baitcaster and a Phlugeger President 145/6 - 6.2:1 spincast reels to put on my two Cashion rods (thanks to Paul Benson). Now my 14 yr has a much better setup than I have, or ever had.

You can not go wrong with Lew's.

I'm hoping to pick up a nice Lew's spincaster combo rod & reel to upgrade my Shakespeare Ugly stick combo.
