Ok I know I have been touting the 1911 Platform for a long time but I have to at least give Glock a real try.
Well here is what I have done.
I ordered a Police Trade in Gen 2 Glock 22 from Classic Firearms, it cost 295.00 shipped.
When I got the pistol the frame looked rough but hey I did not buy it for looks I bought it to carry, and it came with no box and only one mag.
I was not going to carry this pistol till I had it looked at by Glock (advantage of living close to Glock HQ) so I took it to them today.
Well let me tell you how this works.
You pull up to the guard shack and the guard comes out and asks how can he help.
I tell him I am there to get my Glock serviced and he then asks for my Drivers License and proceeds to tell me he will open the gate and to park to the left then come back to the guard shack so he can log in my pistol.
He told me to lock the slide back and bring it to him.
When I entered the Guard shack he took my pistol and Logged my pistol in and put a Gun lock on it and handed the pistol my License and a Visitors badge then told me to return to my car and drive straight forward to dead end and enter the building Where the Black Awning is.
When I got to the door I had to push a button and tell the person what I wanted and then she buzzed me in.
Inside the waiting area there is a Large screen TV playing on a loop Glock Commercials.
I sat down and waited about 1 minute and a young man came in and ask what I needed and I explained that this pistol I had was a police trade in and wanted it looked at before I carried it.
I also asked if he would replace the night sites and put on a Extended slide release and he said he would but that the sights cost 60.99 including tax and the extended slide release was free to be upgraded.
I was there only 10 minutes when he returned and told me the Bad but good news that my frame had a tiny Crack and needed to be replaced.
He said they would give me a new Gen 3 frame but the serial number would not match the slide and barrel and asked if I was ok with that, of course I said yes.
about 20 minutes later he returned with my Glock 22 a new magazine (for the old one) and a box for my pistol as I told him it did not come with one.
The Armorer who did the work was very nice (and I wish I could remember his name).
Now to leave this place all I had to do was drive to the gate and wait for it to open and then give the guard my temporary badge back and let him remove the gun lock on my pistol.
All I can say is that this was a Great experience for me and all gun companies should look at this model for the customer service.
Sorry so long winded but had to include the details.

I carry a police trade in HK USP 45. I had to go through the hassle of doing nothing to it to get it to be 100% reliable with anything I put through it.....

Just messing with ya....that's pretty cool

Great report and glad to see another happy camper..My duty weapon Glock 22 has logged over 30k rounds and still rocks..It has been retired, to be at the Duty station of my truck. It is and always will be ready, when the need arises.

With all the Bullshit going on with ISIS I wanted something that was reliable and had a large capacity Magazine and I did not have a lot of money in.
So I got a Glock.
I also went to the range today and shot it and it is not as accurate as my 1911's are, but I shot the center out of a Target at 25 feet so it is better than most (just kidding it was damn good).
I put 200 rounds thru it and I am happy with it so far (wish I had taken a picture of the target before I left).

the cost of free service is having to watch that motherfucking Glock infomercial 15 times. there are moments, at the end of the film, when I actually wish that his plane would crash into the side of the Austrian alps.

having said that, at least the Glock clone army knows which way to load the mags.
