Trolling the NFA Again Before SHOT Show

Looks like another company has found a loop hole of and has raised the bar trolling the NFA, right before SHOT Show. We've seen this happen with the bump stocks, binary triggers, the Mossberg Shockwave, the the various pistol arm braces, blade, etc. Now Franklin Armory has come out with an 11.5" barrel AR that is not a SBR,

Beats me? All I can think of is it maybe a smooth bore barrel with an overall length of 26"?

That's all I can think of. How much interest could there be in a smoothbore 5.56? Don't get me wrong I'd be glad if it existed, I'm just not buying one.

They don’t think they would need to provide me with some sort of explanation as to why this is not nfa restricted if they want to market it to me in hopes that I’ll buy one??

Reading the SBR wording, it could be taken that a rifle with an overall length of over 26" does not necessarily have to have a barrel over 16" (although I've never, ever heard that argument be successful before)

We have a new designation called "short blaster stick thing"... Almost anything goes in that category. Or even the powers that be have said "this is stupid, fuck it" and are approving whatever they want.
