Today is the launch day for our class project. The goal is to launch a cabbage as far as possible from a device that could fit inside a 4 cubic foot box ( except throw arm). I did a lot of the initial design and calculations. We're limited to 50 pounds of counterwieght but I added a lot more through the use of bungee cords. We might be allowed to step it up to 100 pounds today. With 50 pounds we're consistently throwing an average cabbage 70-75 feet, at 100 pounds the calcs predict a 150-180 foot throw.
