I have just about every handgun I want. Always wanted a 5.7 in FDE. I know it's a fun round to shoot.

Is it worth it though to invest in that caliber? I know ammo cost has came down some.

Any 5.7 owners or not please chime in.

Ammo is still hard to find. The only place I've ever seen it is the PSA store and that's still hit and miss.

I had the same FN itch and took the plunge. The pistol is nice and the ammo inexpensive. Good luck finding 1 under $1k and if you do congrats. I ultimately decided to go with a 5.7 upper and it uses the PS90 mags and only $689.

American Eagle makes ammo and it runs. If you have ever shot a PMR-30 then about the same.

Academy has American Eagle. I shall between 14 and 16 for a box of 50.

Pass. I've never had one but have shot them several times. Honestly I think it's just as fun shooting a PMR 30. The 5.7 is a cool round but too damn expensive to get proficient with to carry it.

The only exception would be if you went all in and got a PS90 and/or a 5.7 upper as well. I think the PS90 is more worth getting into that caliber than the Pistol.

Funny you mention that I was actually looking for a PS90 in OD or FDE. But I can't find one. I'm definitely willing to spend $1400

soft shooting and large capacity magazines make for a fun range toy but that's all it is at the end of the day in my opinion. I'd grab a pmr30 over one myself as their are close enough, or actually I'd recommend going with the REAL one and not the copy and grab an automag in 22mag.

though 5.7 Ammo prices have gotten a lot better though and it can actually be somewhat affordable to shoot, its just the old steel core stuff that sells for stupidly high prices now (for no good reason either after you look at what its ballistics really look like through a vest)

now all that being said if you've always wanted one the fuck it! a 44 mag Deseret eagle and anything 22 hornet are also pretty useless but my god do I want them both

If you already have your bases covered, why not? I've always wanted one. Fast, accurate, soft recoil, 20 round mags. What's not to love?! I see ammo at Academy regularly. I still want to see somebody do a 5.7 bolt gun. Like a CZ 527 action. I'd buy one.

I love the AR57 upper and it is a blast to shoot. I am not a fan of the bullpup style rifle. I had it at the Rome meet and greet and could bring it out to the next one. The shells eject down through the lower' s mag well.

i'm not interested in another handgun caliber (of any type) but i've considered an sbr upper for my registered AR lower in 5.7.

however, i wonder what the benefit over the same length upper in 5.56 would grant given that i own a lightweight suppressor suitable for both calibers.

my perspective is that you have to own two expensive firearms - the fn fiveseven pistol and the p90 - to make it worth your while.

and i have no interest in a non sbr'd ps/p90 which makes the "hoop jumping" a lot more significant post 41f/p (aka 41f--- your trust).
