I wouldn’t be crazy about the brake on a .30-06 hunting rifle, but it should be easily removed, if it bothers you. If it’s a trigger job on the factory trigger, I’d be leery of it unless I knew who did it. Easy enough to replace the trigger with an excellent aftermarket replacement.

Price?
I'm not a fan of stainless, but ADLs are good to go. You can also convert them to BDL/CDL hinged floorplate style with relative ease.

I love the older Rem 700s... never had a stainless one though.

I did buy an ADL 700 in .30-06 from Wal-Mart... on clearance... for $220 out the door. This was about 2007 or so. That thing shot way better than other rifles that I've had- I don't know if it was that particular one or not, but after putting 5 shots into about a 1/2" circle (100 yards), Dad said he'd hang a blue ribbon on it and not change a thing.

Anyway, if it were an older 700, I wouldn't hesitate. I don't know about what they've been turning out the last five or so years. I haven't bought one in that time frame.

Are they normally threaded the same for suppressor?

do tell, never had a rifle with a brake
A few reasons really. The 06' isn't going to recoil enough to make a brake necessary, you aren't going to be putting hundreds of rounds through it off the bench, and it'll increase the dB dramatically and accelerate hearing loss when fired without hearing protection when hunting. I just hate brakes on hunting rifles until .300 Ultra Mag or bigger. In that case, I'd wear ear pro because I'd probably be spotting elk at distance and not be relying on my hearing much.

You should be able to unscrew the brake and put a thread protector on. No worries.

I wouldn’t worry about the trigger, either. Factory Remington triggers are shit, pre- or post-recall. Replace it with a nice aftermarket and you’re good to go.
