Thinking about going optic-less on my SBR

My eye sight doesn't do well with irons. I can shoot with them but I can't do it quickly because it takes me too long to make my eyes look where I want them to.
I prefer a small RDS (like the Aimpoint Micro) with BUIS, but there ain't nothing wrong with running straight irons. I'd prefer good irons to some of the high powered optics I see some folks run on an SBR.
Im leaning heavily toward a DD fixed rear or a carry handle and slapping one of those HABU charging handles on and ditching the MRO
Those look interesting, but I've never talked to anyone who's actually used them.
As long as it's daylight out I only shoot with irons or a scope. But there's really no disadvantage or reason to not have a quality optic with a quick release mount for your build.
I've had EO Techs and other red dots in the past.... Got rid of most of them because I shoot the irons better at anything over 50 yards. And under 50 yards, it really makes no difference except that I'm slightly faster with the red dot. It's still basically point and shoot at "close" ranges.

especially since I have a PDW stock on the rifle.
That's basically where I am. Any sort of distance and I'm popping the rear sight up.
My biggest issue with the fixed Troy sights I was using is the lack of elevation adjustment at the rear sight. My SPECWAR drops the point of impact about 6MOA (6" at 100 yards) and I don't want to screw with the front sight pin every time I switch from suppressed to unsuppressed. Or have to rely on Kentucky windage.
I picked up a set of RRA dominator sights for a reasonable price. I've got that on the carbine now- it has a dial elevation adjust on the rear sight, which is basically what I was looking for. I dumped the Troy rear for a carry handle before I picked up the RRA rear sight.
Yes, irons for me. Eventually I may go to an un-powered or low power scope...but no batteries.
Saw him do some damn fine shooting with open sights at the M&GET in Macon with his 7.62x39 AR and it was no short distance.
Sometimes I think people get hung up on sights. To me it is a personal preference and should be made based on you visual ability and the weapon you are wielding. I wish I had the eyesight I had 20 years ago or even further back. I know I need some optics on my eyeballs but too damn stubborn/proud to go do something. Well, that and my work schedule. Modern optics are affordable enough to maybe try a couple different things. The option to meet up with a member who may have a style of sight is another.
I like the factory night sights on my SIGP290 EDC because I know my limitations aND capabilities. I know that it is for PD and I will not be shooting beyond 15 to 20 yds at furthest. I would think the same thing applies to SBR rifles
The larger frame pistols that may be more utilitarian may have a different sight system. The longer the range the weapon will be shot versus your ability to see with or without magnification should be determiNing factor of irons versus other style sights.

Hey everybody gets a lucky shot under pressure every now and then.
All a matter of personal preferences. Some folks don't shoot unmagnified RDS very well. When my daughter was 10YOA she was ringing steel at 500yds with a DDM4v1, an Aimpoint Micro T1, and M193 ball. She learned to shoot on irons, though.
