Im leaning heavily toward a DD fixed rear or a carry handle and slapping one of those HABU charging handles on and ditching the MROI prefer a small RDS (like the Aimpoint Micro) with BUIS, but there ain't nothing wrong with running straight irons. I'd prefer good irons to some of the high powered optics I see some folks run on an SBR.
Those look interesting, but I've never talked to anyone who's actually used them.i'm also looking at maybe putting tritium inserts into my iron sights for low light situations.

especially since I have a PDW stock on the rifle. The HABU is very interesting.
That's basically where I am. Any sort of distance and I'm popping the rear sight up.I've had EO Techs and other red dots in the past.... Got rid of most of them because I shoot the irons better at anything over 50 yards. And under 50 yards, it really makes no difference except that I'm slightly faster with the red dot. It's still basically point and shoot at "close" ranges.
I'm irons only at the moment. Except on some of the dedicated range toys.

I have gotten away from optics on most of my smaller framed rifle/ pistols. I prefer irons personally. Now I do plan on putting some type of scope/ optic on my 300 blk but that will be for more precision shooting/ hunting platform
Hey everybody gets a lucky shot under pressure every now and then.Saw him do some damn fine shooting with open sights at the M&GET in Macon with his 7.62x39 AR and it was no short distance.
That is awesome!!All a matter of personal preferences. Some folks don't shoot unmagnified RDS very well. When my daughter was 10YOA she was ringing steel at 500yds with a DDM4v1, an Aimpoint Micro T1, and M193 ball. She learned to shoot on irons, though.
