Looks like we are being backed to the edge of a cliff here, and I'm not talking about the fiscal cliff. There will soon only be two directions we can go!

Since "The Annointed One" has nothing to lose in terms of re-election, I expected as much. Getting it thru Congress will be a much tougher sell. After all, even the "D's" want to get re-elected during the next cycle. I agree though, this is going to get very interesting. Yogi :-[

This is the beginning of an interesting 4 years to say the least. Obama has proven to be a pretty tough negotiator and the "right" for lack of a better term have proven willing to cave. He has his work cut out for him as far as moving through congress, but of course he is not backward about using EO where he can get away with it. I do not intend to be to flexible at this point.

Pretty strong terminology... Repugnant and Cowardly in reference to an NRA ad.

Ban assault weapons, 10 round magazines, armor-piercing bullets, and do background checks on all gun sales. Add 23 EO's that were mostly undefined.

Leaves lots of questions and the first four items seem to be catch phrases rather than anything thought-through.

Glad he didn't include registration.

The evening news sounded like Gun Forum 101. Elected officials taking preliminary positions, some comparing the rights as stated in the Bill of Rights are no more equal than the privilege of driving a car. One republican said if 2A is infringed... it should only be by the narrowest of considerations.

Put on your mandated seat belt, this gonna be quite a ride.

I think the actual gun control measures will have a tough time making it through Congress. Most of the invasion to our privacy measures will sail through Congress or by EO. Just my opinion of course.

The White House used the same words to describe an NRA TV Ad that criticized a certain politician hyprocracy. The BBC Radio & TV had a monopoly on broadcasting in the UK for decades. They pretty much toed the line for the Labor Party after WWII when Churchill got voted out as the country rushed to establish a Socialist Government. But just like what happened to CNN, alternative Media Outlets were developed that became supportive of Conservative Views, as people became disenchanted with a Nanny State.

Like it or not the NRA is going to have to step up to the plate and engage in some hard core exchanges in the Media. Failing to respond to unjust or out right mud slinging from the opposition, with so many un-informed voters in this country, recently created an advantage in the last election. We need to be Gentlemen about it, avoiding name calling, but standing our ground.

Exactly. For the first time in a long time I have some faith that they will.

Well stated Slowhand and BDD. The uninformed are taking their opportunity to express their views. Our voices must be better and more persuasive.

That is because we also believe in the First Amendment.
