I'm so proud of my wife and daughter.

They have collectively had one of the best days in their lives in the last 12 hours. My daughter, at the age of 15, has won the Eddie's Attic open mic night and is going to the semi-annual competition in June. She was fantastic, and such a tremendous musician. There was incredible competition.

My wife just got news that she got an incredible job at a very prestigious university in Europe. She was one of 450+ applicants, narrowed to 20, then down to the final four that interviewed for 2 days. Her incredibly hard work has taken her from being a poor kid that grew up in the very rural midwest to a position at an incredible institution where she will finally be properly recognized, and compensated for her genius.

Sorry about the self-congratulation, but it's been a long road and these two are finally being recognized for their incredible talents. It couldn't happen to two more wonderful ladies.

I'm just so proud of these two.

We're still working out details, but she'll be commuting. Nobody complain about your commutes! lol

It's not as bad as it sounds either. She already travels quite a lot, but now it'll all be condensed into 3.5 months or so and back home for 9 months out of the year. I'll be able to go along regularly as my job allows for quite a lot of flexibility.
