Silent Warfare: The Marines & Suppressors

A recent Military.Com article states that "
"In a series of experiments this year, units from 2nd Marine Division will be silencing every element of an infantry battalion -- from M4's to 50-caliber machine guns."

I think this is a fantastic idea and wonder why it has taken so long to be introduced.

So do soldiers not use hearing protection? M16 is flipping loud.

I think it's a good idea.

The issue I see is that many complained that the M-16 was already too long for use clearing buildings. Putting a can on a 14" M-4 brings the length up to or over the M-16.

Awesome. I can say that I am surprised that more suppressor applications have not been applied already though. It just seems smart you know save the ears.
