I've got to give Mossberg credit on their new rifle, the Patriot Revere. It's gorgeous! Grade III/IV walnut, rosewood caps, maple spacers, and blued metalwork. Of course, being Mossberg they left the damn trigger guard plastic, but it's a sharp gun otherwise. You usually only see this quality of wood on Weatherby, Browning Medallions, Model 70 Super Grades, etc...

It's good to see brands offering more wood options, even on their budget models - Savage is now offering it for their Axis line, and Remington for their 783.

Nice looking rifle. Wonder how it will shoot?
The reviews I read were decent, but general consensus favored a bedding job to tighten it up. It was definitely minute-of-deer-vital accurate from the factory though.
Comes in 243, 270, 6.5 Creedmoor, 308, 30-06, and 300 Win Mag.

I'm seriously considering the 308.

Looks really nice- and is the first time I've seen one.

I wonder what the street price will be, given the high grade wood stock? And wow... plastic trigger guard after all that money spent on wood? Granted, a plastic trigger guard will likely serve 95% of us with no issues, but it really would look better as a piece of blued steel. Just my opinion-

Grabagun is showing $576. I've never cared for their shotguns; I had 2 fail, both pumps. However, I had a 4x4 (predecessor to the Patriot line) that I loved. It was a great shooter.

Sub $600 and a good looking rifle- I'd say they did a good job. I'd also love to see some groups out of one, just to show they paid as much attention to the assembly/barrel/etc. as they did the looks.

Some reviews stated they were pleased with their groups, others got 1.5", Outdoor Life got 2.5" (not good), and Chuck Hawks insisted that it needed bedding work or other fore-end channel work for desired results. That's my only hesitation thus far. If it shoots like my 4x4 did, I would gladly buy one.

I had the 16.5” Patrol 7.62, shot pretty well. With SSA M118LR and a 1-4x Burris it shot around 1MOA. I installed a Timney trigger and did some work to stiffen and weight the stock.

Good looking stock. No 7 mm rem mag?

Accurate enough for most hunting on the east coast.

I have a 4x4 in .30-06 that is a tack driver. One of my favorite bolt guns I own.
