^ Savage Hog hunter $400

That savage scout looks so damn sexy.

Both guns are threaded, but the scout comes with the brake
Both guns have iron sights, but the Scouts is a peep sight with longer radius
The scourt comes with adjustable cheek piece
The Scout comes with detachable mag, the hog hunter does not use mags
The scout uses the accustock, the hog hunter does not.
Both have large bolt knob and accutrigger

I love my hog hunter, its a .5 MOA gun, but that scout(with the sights removed and standard scope rail added) would be a serious competitor with the cheek piece and detachable box mag.

any thoughts? it may have a smaller barrel profile, but not sure

Only played with the hog hunter. Shot one suppressed and was pretty sweet. Looks like the scout is out comparable to the Ruger Gunsite Scout which is amazing!

Hog Hunter ftw. I do like the option for a scout scope though.

However!!!

This won't stop me from trying to shoot a savage scout. It wasn't available when I was looking g for this sort of gun.

Detachable mag would be nice. Cheek piece would be cheap to buy. Sight radius isn't a deal maker for me. If yours shoots half moa I would stick with it.

My Hoghunter shoots well under moa with good handloads, but the lack of a detachable magazine, and flimsy stock make me wish that I had gone for a HS Precision equipped edition.

What does it matter? You haven't shot your hog hunter in over a year.

Hell... I have not shot A LOT of my rifles in over a year.... So now I just buy ammo, for rifles & pistols I don't shoot...

Scout all the way. Laufen endorsed. Detachable box mag, peep, rail, slimmer barrel profile, fuck man if Jeff Cooper could rise out of his grave he'd give it his endorsement too. You don't buy a scout rifle to be aheavy fucking club. It's a streamlined, duck and run machine.

*I'm hammered, so take this with a grain of aslt'

Is the stock and detachable mag worth the price difference to you?

Do you need a peep sight if your going to have an optic?

The muzzle device I'm sure would be replaced anyway and the adjustable comb should be easy enough to add to the hog hunter.

But, it is a cool rifle and I'm sure you'd enjoy it.
