I still want a certain SP101 a certain @Copernicusl has listed on here! Even if it doesn't have a hammer!
Between these two particular revolvers I would not hesitate to say the gp100 would be my pick. I love a 4" barrel on a wheel gun. Good looking pieces. Was going through some pics on Photobucket and found this pic. 686 w/ 8-3/8" barrel and a GP100 w/ 4" barrel.

I miss the GP100 most. The 686 had a better trigger but the Ruger just felt like it was built so much stronger than the 686. I have shot a S&W loose before(had to send it to S&W), never had that happened in any of my Rugers.
http://ruger.com/products/redhawk/specSheets/5033.htmlAn 8 shot? You got a link? I tried to Google it but my Google Fu is weak.
Yea. I want one also. Probably be mid year before ones to be found though. Maybe I will have the gun fund built back up by then. Lol

I'm guessing you didn't shoot a SIX-shot 586 or 686 loose...A K-Frame .357 or a Seven-shot 686 Plus I could see--BT,DT, have the Tee-shirt--But the Six-shot L-Frames are very nearly as strong as the N-Frame .357's, and will take a. LOT of use/abuse before they need attention--And the TRIGGERS, OH, MY!--The Smith Triggers are EASILY Tunable to pull weights and smoothness that Rugers can only ENVY--LOL!
