Here's where they lost me:
The ARX bullet is a non-expanding bullet that is designed to use rotational energy to increase the wounding effect. According to PolyCase, the 9mm load “…has been compared by some to be similar to that of a .223 75 gr BTHP.”
When we went from the 45-70 to the 30-03 and then the improved 30-06, many establishment people thought that the faster lighter round would be ineffective compared to the heavier slower round. Refresh my memory on what the highly effective 1903 Springfield and M1 Garand was chambered in.
There's another round that's similar, bullet tip looks like an X. From the testing I looked at, it looked pretty good in .380, but there was too much penetration in 9mm. I don't remember the grains and fps, I think it was a more standard weight and velocity.
The effectiveness of the lighter 30-06 compared to the 45-70 is in no way an appropriate comparison between these handgun rounds.
Well, whatever turns a profit I guess.

I don't want to be spit upon, but I'm not using that as a metric to determine whether or not it'd be an effective defensive tool.
It's the same design as the Lehigh xtreme penetrator essentially. It's gives an alright wound channel with lots of penetration. It's okay stuff if your'e shooting through glass or other barriers.
Sounds like an ideal compromise for a .380 actually, don't think I'd do it in anything bigger though.
The big difference is the weight of the projectile. The Lehigh is 115 gr in 9mm. This stuff is 74. I can't think of any advantage to the extreme low weight (well added velocity but not enough imo)
