Ruger SP101 22LR

I was out doing some late Christmas shopping this afternoon and ran into a Ruger SP101 revolver. I’ve had one in .357 Magnum for a couple of years and they’re a great firearm.

At Sportsman’s Warehouse this one was going for $579.99. A Military Discount knocked $29.00 off that so with sales tax with came to $589.56.

Originally I was looking at a Ruger Bearcat, a great single action pistol, with a duck head grip and engraved cylinder, looking like an older Remington from the Civil War Era. But for a hundred dollars less I went for the SP101. That makes 5 Ruger revolvers that I own. A Christmas present and since I’ve been retired 3 years next month along with turning 65, what the heck.

I haven’t been the range anytime lately and this one ought to be a hoot to shoot.

Nice collecion of Ruger revolvers. I have been watching an Alaskan at the local gun shop for several months and can't believe its still on the shelf. They make the Alaskan in 454 casull also.

Nice collecion of Ruger revolvers. I have been watching an Alaskan at the local gun shop for several months and can't believe its still on the shelf. They make the Alaskan in 454 casull also.

If I lived in Big Bear Country I'd consider a 454. But in SC the bears stay smaller.
