Precision Applications, LLC will be conducting a Level 1 Residential Room Clearing & Active Shooter Course on January 28-29, 2017, in Marietta GA.
We will start at 0800hrs on each day and run until approximately 1700hrs. You can pack a lunch or eat nearby.
The purpose of this course is to teach you to properly clear your own residence, in the case of a burglary/home invasion. I'm not advocating house clearing on your own, but if you are in one part of the home while your significant other is in another part, it would be a good idea to be able to safely move and link up.
Topics covered for this portion of the course include, but are not limited to:
-moving down hallways and through intersections
-entering doorways
-clearing rooms
-clearing stairs, ladderwells and attic stairs
-working individually and as a team of 2 or more
-working in daylight and limited visibility/darkness
The second part of the course will be Active Shooter, which ties in neatly with the first portion. With the recent events that have occurred across the nation, this is an excellent time to bone-up on these essential skills. What if you're at the mall, or picking your child up from school, or in church, and an Active Shooter situation occurs?
While on the surface many of the skills and tactics used in AS sound the same or similar to room clearing, the employment is very, very different.
In order to maximize the training time, and minimize the down time, we will be employing a "round robin" type of class involving different training going on simultaneously with different groups.
We will be limiting the class to 20 students. Course fee is $400 per student, payable in advance. Respond here letting me know that you're in, but your slot isn't locked in until payment is received. I accept cash, checks, money orders and PayPal.
We will not be doing live-fire during this Level I training. I will be doing a Level II to follow that will primarily be 2 days of Simunitions and/or Airsoft, force-on-force. Then there will be a 2-day Level III that will be all live-fire. Level I is a prereq for Level II, which is a prereq for Level III.
If you have already taken a previous Level 1 course, I would recommend taking it again, but it is not required. This new training venue will enable us to cover several issues we were not able to cover in the previous Level 1 course, plus it's been a while. If you already took the Level course, your cost for this training will be $300.
At the end of the day, there will be a final, comprehensive exercise that will involve force-on-force; your team vs one of the Instructors, using Simunitions and/or Airsoft.
Gear list:
Handgun with holster and covering garment
For the handguns, I prefer something similar to a Blade Tech training barrel to render it safe. Contact me prior to the class if you have any issues or concerns with this. I have "blue guns" that I will loan to folks that don't have a means to render their handgun safe, or don't care to.
If you have a long gun (carbine, shotgun, SMG, etc) that you use for home defense, bring it as well. We will discuss the pros and cons of each system, so run what ya brung.
For long guns, I prefer a flag safety device or similar so that we can render them safe. If you don't have one, I have several I will loan out. If you are running some sort of AR, a Blade Tech training bolt (about $15) will be required.
At least 1 handheld flashlight. If you have weapon-mounted lights, excellent, bring those as well, but you will still need a handheld flashlight.
