Your triggers don't suck, you do. You can't fix software problems with hardware.
Disagree. I may have a lot of deficiencies, but marksmanship isn't one of them.

I know, it's totally true. I also need a 9mm since I have a mountain of it. A nice blued 1911 9mm with billboard target sights would be perfect....longslide 6" even better.
A Springfield Range Officer in 9mm would be a solid starting point.

I'm not much of a Springfield fan, but I'll give them a look. It's been a long time since I've seriously considered a 1911. Who's still using MIM parts?

Everyone is using mim stuff. You probably have to step up to the $1k price point to avoid it. Still, the RO is probably the best value in the 1911 world. Swap in a few machined parts if you feel the need.

Personally, the best all around gun I've ever owned was a CZ custom shop tuned PCR - fantastic trigger and accuracy that made me look better than I deserved. If I were in your shoes I'd buy a complete Cajun Gun Works CZ. A P01 or PCR Pro Package runs $946 complete.

That's fine, I'm not looking for cheap, I'm looking for good. I've had SP-01s and Phantoms, the triggers really keep them both reined in.

The P01 and PCR are too small. Maybe I'll go back to the SP01.

They offer an impressive Shadow build, also a very nice 97BD. The 97 is interesting as they (at one time) use a modified 1911 barrel bushing to tune the accuracy.

I saw the target you posted from the CZ scorpion, you still have some work you can do.
Eh? The blasting target? Anyway, like I said. I'm not the best by any stretch of the imaginaiton, but I feel like I'm better than most "duty guns". Is it too much for someone to just want a more accurate pistol?

Not gonna lie, I might resemble that remark.

Oh, I do too. But the first step to improvement is to stop blaming your equipment. I know people who can make shots at 600 yards with an iron sight, mil spec AR. That means the reason I struggle isn't that I don't have a Timney or a Geissle.

How much target does the front sight post of an AR cover at 600 yards? How big is the target?

Anyway, I'm not "blaming" the equipment. There are true, built in hindrances that impede accuracy.
