I just got back from the range, and had a hell of a good time. I'm no Annie Oakley, but I do ok. At this point I feel like my pistols, and probably their triggers are holding me back. I think I'm ready for something better.

Anyone have any experience with Sig XFives?

The desire for a good trigger can only be quenched by a 1911 ... tread forth my son, you shall thank me

I know, it's totally true. I also need a 9mm since I have a mountain of it. A nice blued 1911 9mm with billboard target sights would be perfect....longslide 6" even better.

There is nothing quite like the feel of a 1911.
A friend of mine ordered a Star Modelo 9mm (1911 style) surplus gun from AIM. He picked it up today and I punched the shit out of the 10x at 15 yards.....when it would feed. It's mags suck, but she shoots great.

Not sure I'd want a 6" 1911 in any caliber (except 10mm), carrying it would be a bitch and unless you just really suck at follow-ups w/ 147gr ammo, it'd just be a range toy.

I'd hunt with it.

I know you probably wouldn't want it. But have you thought about building up a G34 maybe one of the MOS ones with a trijicon on top

Not sure if anyone makes a 6" 1911 in 9mm.

RIA makes one in .45acp and 10mm.

I have a Citadel 1911 in 9mm and it is a hoot to shoot.

Only five inches, though.

Fuck trigger. I'll still be firing at 11 rounds while you're clearing jams.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A
lol, I knew it was coming, the inevitable "it jams" rhetoric o_O

I will say though, if you use some piece of crap mag it can happen, I've had crappy mags and FTEs in HKs and G17's, G19's & G21s, so it's not like any firearm is immune to crappy mags .... but some are bit more picky :)
