This is absolutely the right answer in today’s climate. You stand to lose nothing but 10,000 posts of memes we all have saved in our phones anyways, and drunken ramblings. I love both of those things, but to pretend like the current thread is some kind of holy-untouchable sacred mass collection of wisdom and information is just false.

it’s best for the site, it’s best for everybody, and if you feel some type of way about your personal shit posting then by all means continue as normal on the new subs.

I agree with you in the regard that a man should own his words with courage and without fear of retribution, however I also believe what others have said about the political and social landscape of our society has dramatically changed and we have to be more careful. It’s akin to when I grew up, we never locked our doors. We didn’t lock them during the day, at night, when we went to bed, or when we left the house. We weren’t scared of someone breaking in. However fast forward 40 years and times, society, culture, and mankind is different and it’s not cowardly to lock your doors, it’s just smart. Did that make sense?
