Never heard of using ATF for stain. I know you can put steel wool in vinegar to make a gray aged stain, but never heard of ATF

Yeah, it was an accident on my part. Instead of used Motor oil, i grabbed a jug of ATF. I have used Motor oil as a wood finish many times and it works great. Apparently ATF does too

I don’t know as much about mushrooms as some people but have a friend that’s near Calhoun, has a 180ac property and he’s an absolute mushroom foraging freak. Test mule for all mushrooms over the last 20+ years that he’s been foraging. His wife is a nurse and years ago she called me that he was rushed to emergency turned all blue and full muscle lock he almost died. I don’t remember which ones he ate but afterwards he bought this big book of mushrooms and crossed out the “bad ones”
He hasn’t given up yet.
I get various dried mushrooms from him every year. Too bad the climate here isn’t right for black trumpets (awesome mushrooms, as good as truffles and much cheaper)
