New neighbor who is building on the lot next to us told us not to worry about getting animals because she likes to look at them, she just doesn't want to smell manure.
Had to bite my tongue and not tell her not to worry, that my animals like looking at people but don't like smelling them either.

The city people "want to live in the country" but then quickly complain about the sights, sounds and smells in the country.

One example from many years ago... Some of the new people around us stopped the truck spreading chicken manure on the cow pasture across the street and complained to the poor driver. What do these city people expect to see and smell in the country....a new york deli?
