Any of y’all hunt with 7x62x54r at woods distances? I discovered last year that I could load 170 flat nose into the cases and make the equivalent of 30-30 “magnum” from a carbine length barrel. The safety on the guns is a pain though, and other than the ring attachment there doesn’t seem to be a good way to make the safety easier to work. Any ideas?

Stayed up all night getting my 30-06 ammo ready for hunting season 2040. It seems like every year I have to be ready to shoot 86 deer.

Mosin Nagant perfection... But yeah, that safety design is awful. If I was hunting with that rifle, I would not even bother trying to put it on safe after I chambered a round.
