I picked up a post war with the pigsticker missing for a swine slayer. 7.62x54r looses a lot of velocity from the carbine length barrel. Ultimately, I discovered thru careful load development. I could load 170 grain 30-30 bullets up to about 2500 fps. Which is at least 200 fps faster than 30-30 ammunition.
So I went dot on carry handle
