Just so you know, I’m not a great swimmer.
I’ve never dove for a body before this. So I calculated about how far a human can jump from the dock, and where I would land. I dove down and touched the bottom of the lake, about 12 feet. I did that for about 10 minutes and finally get a body, swam up with him from the bottom, almost out of air, and swam with him to shore. Alone. My partner wasn’t comfortable doing that which is 100% okay. This was free diving. We don’t have scuba gear. Victim didn’t make it. So what’s the point in an award?
