Uncle just told me on his deployment his mag fell apart in a firefight so he started using Pmags. He gonna let me get the ones he do have though.....should I worry?

Looked it up, after you posted the part#. It does use CR123, It is $750-ish, ouch. I will call it a "close enough clone" and go with a $250 512. I can make sure batteries do not shift.

I believe it's been discontinued, so I'm not sure anywhere would have it in stock. I've passed on them used for $350 and less before because I either didn't have the money or I wasn't quick enough to snag it...so they're out there if you have the patience...

Also, I believe they have switched to the SU231A but I'm not sure if they are using these on the SOPMODs...Have the SF started using the Geissele URGi exclusively? Or are they still using Block I and Block II?

I thought really hard on whether to do SF or UF. And probably should have gone SF. But UF got those aesthetics

I can see it happen if the bottom of the mag got crushed somehow, and floorplate fell out.
Use steel GI mags, ala H&K, so it does not happen, or Lancers, with plastic bottom and steel feed lips.

Any gear can fail if abused.

AK mags are designed to be used as hammer. To move the front sight post. Put cap from the cleaning kit under the front sight post barrel. Use body of the kit as a punch, top of the mag, with doubled up steel, as a hammer.
