Man we did the same with our dog. Had to take out a “care credit” for animals. He swallowed an oak nut and almost killed him. 3,000 dollars later and he is as good as ever but I’ll be paying on that for a good while. Hope your cat has a speedy recovery.
Pet care costs are some of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make.

Well hell all of my gun money is gone....
The wife took our cat to the vet yesterday because he was really sick.
$2000.00 later he's still in the hospital but he is getting better.
Had I taken him to the vet I am afraid I would have brought him back home, dug a hole and sent him to kitty heaven.
I don't even want to think about how much more this is going to cost.....

Sorry to hear...my wife and I are at least on the same page for this kind of stuff.

We have a beagle that is already passed her expected life span...poor little thing was having issues over the summer and I said we have to at least give 'er a chance...treatment worked. Yay. But it was no where near that amount of money. If it had been it would have been a shot at the vet and a nice memorial at home.

Both Mrs J and I agreed that cat would have gone to kitty heaven, if it were us. That's a LOT of money. And I like cats. Moved one from Alaska to GA.

Are Rossi lever actions good? I got that marlin 30-30 a few weeks ago but I think I want a lever action in 357...I ask about Rossi because I assume it’s the same price I got that marlin at. 250-300 dollar range.

or

would it be better to just keep the 30-30

Yeah old Ned is a good cat (and I am not a cat person) but I would not have made the same decision she did.

Dissy is 16" with the FSP at the rifle position, but the actual gas system will be a mid or carbine.
A dissy is 16" with the FSP and the gas system at the rifle position.
A mock dissipator is 16" with the FSP at the rifle position, but the actual gas system will be a mid or carbine.

It's why my green dissy is an unreliable turd. Not enough gas to push the bolt back because the gas port is so close to the end of the barrel.

Rossi is made by Taurus. Some give them a bad rap, I've never had trouble. Lots of aftermarket stuff for them. Unless things have changed in the years since I was selling my guns, you will not find a .357 lever action as cheap as you got the 30-30.

Be prepared to shell out $500 for a Rossi in .357
They are a little rough around the edges and not too smooth out of the box, but they'll run.

I have a 16" Rossi mod 92 and it almost feels like a toy it's so short. QUICK handling little carbine! Mine runs great - been thinking about doing some work to it but nothing yet. Shoots .38 or .357magnum, what's not to love! You can hunt deer with it for goodness sake! Great companion rifle for your new wheel gun!

Lots of aftermarket support for the Rossi, too.

That’s the reason I want one in 357/38 because of the revolver. Haven’t really looked at used prices but am a little worried it’s gonna be hard to come by and not quite as cheap as the marlin

Marlin 357s are like 800 or so IF you can find them...at least last time I looked.

I'd like a 327 Mag wheel gun and matching lever
