Hey hey hey good afternoon Kalash'ers! So... I wanted to thank you all for being here. Seriously, you all provide so much content as well as help build this community into what it has become today. Your contributions have not gone unnoticed. You all have become an intricate part of Southeast Traders as well as become a beast in it's own right. So after a lot of discussion with the staff here at SET, what I'd like to propose to you is something I believe you will love. I'd like to create your own forum on Southeast Traders called the "Kalash Klub".

What I envision is a forum that is dedicated to everything the Kalash Klub embodies. A forum that contains tons of topics and threads that you all create and love to discuss. A forum that is created by you, for you, and moderated by you. I'm not sure how you'd like to appoint the moderators of the Kalash Klub, but based on some research, and time digging through this incredibly rich thread, I think we have a list of OG's that would be great candidates: Fast306Stang, Mark23, triplestack3, wudee and peanut butter.

I would think you all could start off with 3 moderators or more, and as it continues to grow, we can increase the moderators needed to make sure the content is rich, the community continues to grow, nurture each other and that great content is moved into threads where that content can be easily found to enrich others. I'll leave it up to you how you all want to allow others to join the Kalash Klub, but I'd like to see it grow, so don't make it too exclusive and restricted. I'd also like to make badges for the Kalash Klub for your user names as @Hoss has experimented with recently. I'll leave it to you to determine what the badge(s) say and their color, etc. as well as who gets them. Again, I want this to be an inclusive part of our great site and allow it to be a critical piece of our growth.

So, what say you all? Good idea? Thoughts?

My first act as head regional moderator will be to ban you :becky:

Seriously though, I'm not opposed to a "KK" forum that retains this thread and allows for other topics.

We joke about it a lot, but there's always been resistance to this changing because there's no place like it on the Internet as far as I know. I'll date myself but this forum is like the show Cheers where we all greet each other and know tons about each other because of this very thread. If it was split out into a million threads, I feel like we might lose some of that.

QFT.

I mean, just create a a new thread, it’ll be answered. I went out of my way and started a magazine thread so it wouldn’t get lost here. But, I have no say so in this. I’m just some dude with a gas mask

I support @dougiemac on his vision to help create a seperate KK forum, mainly because you guys have brought a metric shit-ton of advice to us less-learned AK guys (I'm slightly converted in my ways), but honestly, It's very hard for me to go back and find the advice given without scrolling through 100 pages.

I see it as a win-win, but just my $0.02 ... hope there's a way to make errybody happy!

I'm sad that you view it that way. I see it as building up and supporting what you've created. I don't see how in anyway that is destroying? Does everyone else feel this way?

I feel like there's always been resistance to the craziness that is this thread from site owners and moderators even on the other site. I get it, you're trying to grow the site so I see your point. On the other hand, we're creating tons of content as is, so what's the issue?

What happens to this particular thread if we get our own sub forum?

It would be the origin thread for the Kalash Klub, however we are potentially reaching a technical issue with the indexing of the sheer size of one thread. Additionally, the Kalash Klub OG's could move topics that they feel are critical into their own thread for easy access for others to find important information.

I understand. I recall a mod doing that when I first joined. I recommended a movie to watch and then all of a sudden it was in its own thread

I was not speaking in a literal fashion.

However I believe KKlub works because it is so different from anything else out there in the web.

This thread is not just a collection of posts, it is the lifeblood of the KKlub, it is a living history, and it should be given the opportunity to live out its natural life.

I am sure that this thread has been responsible for almost as many members as @DanKATL

Am I the only one who thinks that's amazing? How many threads on the Internet have near 200k posts?
