Niiice, you ever replace the stock shift knob on a car? The ball on my truck broke off trying to choose a new one... Of course sooner or later I'll be upgrading to a short throw shifter too..
I don't have pics but we replaced the ball on my wife's 2013 GT when she had it. It was nicer than the factory one, larger and fits the hand better. I'm probably going to do the same on mine.
When I had my 6 speed Nissan Frontier, the shifter was actually too short. It was a little awkward to get to the upper right gear, which was 5th. I bought a yellow number 1 cue ball, drilled it and epoxied it to a 3" extension. I threaded it onto the factory stick, I used washers to adjust the spacing so the ball was perfectly aligned. The washers also provided a holder for the shift boot so it wouldn't slip down and expose the joint where the shifter was extended.
I used a numbered ball...the 8 ball is always more expensive. The cue ball is cheaper but it's a smaller diameter so that's why I didn't use it. It's a smaller diameter so thats how a pay pool table knows to let it return when you scratch...
