late production Universal, I'd say 1980's they went down hill during that time. I've got a M1 Carbine made by Universal but its one of the first ones 1960's and is basically a USGI M1 as they used old WW2 parts mostly when they first started transitioning to a cheaper design later on that were all new manufactured parts

1.5" to 2" 3 shot groups from my Vepr all day long.
But I have a 4x24 POSP on it, and I do not shoot shittiest ammo in it.
