Secure the rifle to a table/rest. Get lined up with your irons on paper. Don't move the gun. Dial the scope until it's on target (double check irons again).

Oh, and start at like 25 yards.

I didn’t think to get the rifle secure, I was just shooting prone. I’ll lug something down their to strap it down, good call!

well if it’s rusted to hell and back wouldn’t the value already be pretty low?

Depends on the gun.

For example, I recently found what I believe is a relic status Colt Walker. If I was to purchase it (working on verifying authenticity now) I could probably resell it for $80k+. If I was to completely refurbish that total would shrink to $20k.

Supposedly you can do it in 2 shots. Know your distance and take a shot. Wherever it hits on paper, make your adjustments to hit bullseye. IE, 3 clicks up, 7 clicks left, etc. Theoretically you should be zeroed. Of course I've never been able to do it that way :roflmao:

I use a Stewart vise.
Aquire bullseye and fire one round.
Aquire bullseye again, lock down the vise and adjust cross hairs to the bullet hole from 1st shot.
Take a test shot and its usually within ½"
