what are you going to do with the hides?
Piss tan and send to you. LoL

I actually use egg yolk tanning method.

Let me know if you need some hides or get those cages built and I'll get you some Silver Fox breaders from my sister reasonably priced or maybe free if she's in a good mood.

Steel wool has only ONE purpose!
Finishing wood
I've know people to fuck up guns, even stainless guns using steel wool.
It makes stainless rust

In my experience, and i may have screwed up, it fucked up wood too.

I only use it to start fires and scrub really burnt dishes.

I need to come over when you’re tanning so I can learn how you do it! I’ve read about the egg yolk method but want to get hands on

Starts fires good for sure.
I use baking soda for burned pots and pans

Yeah, i used to use SOS pads, but then i found the blue "no scratch" scotch brite pads.

I've had plenty of steel wool, but it usually ends up stuck in my skin and in the wood. After a while in Georgia's humidity, it rusts and stains the wood. Even with an oil finish.

I grew up poor and that's the way I was taught.
Use what's on hand.
Makes a softer hide in my opinion and easier to stretch breaking the grain.
you can smoke it afterwards to make it waterproof!

We all grew up poor. It's why we are what we are now. I still remember getting my velcro sneakers from a grocery store. This was a long time before walmart was a thing. My classmates taunted me.

Patience and a light hand.
I use it on wood for the finish, like linseed oil/truoil between the first few coats.
Block with 400 grit wet to 1000 grit wet after initial coats.

Makes it bling
