Patience and a light hand.I've had plenty of steel wool, but it usually ends up stuck in my skin and in the wood. After a while in Georgia's humidity, it rusts and stains the wood. Even with an oil finish.

Block with 400 grit wet to 1000 grit wet after initial coats.
