Who has any experience with stargazing? I have been wanting a nice telescope setup but now I'm thinking binoculars on a tripod. Are the binos fixed or variable power? Thoughts?

Skyview it'sa a pretty good app for locating things in the sky. That's all I've got.

Oddly enough, that app is what jogged my memory that I wanted some optics for stargazing. I loved it as a kid and my son is 10 now, I think it's something we would all enjoy...

That app is pretty cool though. Kinda funny you can point your phone to the ground and it shows the sun...
