If any of y’all want one of these let me know. The bases are a little rusted, well one has significant rust. I’d take 50 a piece for them. 35 for the really rusty one. They are technically live. oct /nov 1944 dated. That’d put it in the Battle of the Buldge timeline?

"liquidate your bakes" says the voice in my head

No shit man. I have been struggling with this in my head daily recently. I could buy a few nice guns if I sold even half my bakes. But I have somehow justified getting most of them because of mold numbers, markings, stamps, baseplates, ridge backs, flat backs etc. and now I actually believe it, lol.

It’s old but it’s a good thermal. Last time I used it was like 2008 Iraq. We had them mounted on the 240B in 2005 on the top of the humvees when we would go out on night ops. They work well, suck batteries and are big AF.

I think they haven’t sold because 1. It’s a stack for real, and 2. Now days everyone is obsessed with helmet mounted stuff.

we got thermals that are the size of PVS-14s, he’ll even clip ons that attach to 14s the CODI units, but none will see as far as these until you get to the 6000-10,000 range.probably nervous about no warranty surplus condition. Would pick the best of the units he had with him if I could for sure

the FOv is small and they turn on by depressing the eye cup when you’re looking through them.

other than being big, bulky, heavy, and torching double AA batteries (like 10 or 12 of them I can’t remember) it worked well, handled recoil fine, had decent modes of operation too.

Just noticed that. I used several thermals so I’m probably mixing up a V2 or V3 etc
yeah must be a different version you used, same optic design. I didn't realize how big they were, I mean I used to have a PVS-2 1969 Vietnam starlight night vision scope that still worked lol and it was fucking huge bro. Thought they may have sized em down since the 60-70's. I have a pic of it somewhere on my AR. I'll see if I can pull it up.

I countered him with 1k and 100 rounds of 30-06 M2.

holy shit! Yeah are you sure you are thinking of the same model? The one this guy has takes rechargeable batteries packs. He 3D molded a pack to fit inside the optic.
Yep I guess we got the new ones from 2006 in 2008 and that’s the batteries I’m thinking about. Used the one y’all are looking at in 2005

Wikipedia - In November 2006, three new versions of the AN/PAS-13 were ordered by the U.S. military. The Thermal Weapon Sights II include three new versions, a Light, Medium, and Heavy. All three models weigh less than the originals, weighing 1.8 lbs, 2.8 lbs, and 3.9 lbs respectively. This reduction in weight and size is due to improvements in the sensors, as well as the ability to now run the sights without being cooled. The Medium and Heavy models maintain zooms of 5× and 10×, while the Light model has a zoom of 1.55× and a FOV of 15 degrees. All three models now run on lithium AA batteries, with the Light having a battery life of 5 hours, the Medium 6.5, and the Heavy 6.5.[3] The US Armed Forces designates version 2 as MTWS (Medium Thermal Weapon Sight), and version 3 as HTWS (Heavy Thermal Weapon Sight).[4]

yup here it is, I ended up trading it up towards something else. It was pretty cool think it was a 1969. had a retrofitted battery that was rechargeable. You could barely see through the thing, can't imagine trying to use that in a combat zone in Vietnam 2E6E9639-AD7E-4BAC-A299-D4BFF5C5F0B6.jpeg

old pic btw, I have since removed the NRA sticker and the guns on the wall now are much more classier.
