I've seen several flying over my backyard (in the last 30 years).
About 10 years ago, I saw one sitting in the outfield of one of the baseball fields by Northside Middle School (behind what use to be Foodmax on N.Houston).
As I approached it took off and flew along next to me about 10 to 15 feet outside my driverside window.
